Dear Chalice Congregant,
We’re Renewing the Well of Love is our theme for this year’s Pledge Drive, as we look forward to supporting our beloved Chalice UU Congregation for the upcoming year. This is a place close to our hearts, loved by our members and friends, a space for people when they really need it.

We are committed to maintaining this well of love and fellowship and have now created a Planned Maintenance fund. Recently, our campus has had a professional inspection and evaluation with respect to long-range items like our Fellowship Building and Chapel roof and HVAC systems. The Planned Maintenance fund will be used in the future to fund repairs or replacements to these expensive items, as well as any emergency repairs that may arise.

Chalice cannot function without our staff. Support of employees with appropriate market-rate wages, health insurance, and retirement contributions is key to how we operate.

As you know, costs are going up and holding our budget steady in this economy is a challenge. If we all pledge exactly at the same rate each year, this will not keep up with our budgetary needs.

If you are new to pledging, could I ask you to consider making a pledge commitment? If you are already pledging, could I please ask you to pledge more this year, even if it is a small amount? In unsteady times, we want to be the place that newcomers to our congregation need, upholding our mission and vision to our community.

You may have noticed the new wishing well planter in the Chalice garden, created as a visual centerpiece for this year’s pledge drive. Many thanks to Tom Carlstrom for designing and building it for our community, and to Paul Courtright for helping. After you have submitted your pledge, we invite you to take a photo at the wishing well planter, making a heart shape with your hands. These photos will be gathered into a shared collection, offering a visible expression of the care and commitment that sustain our congregation.

Looking farther ahead, our mortgage will increase in March 2027 by approximately 2.75% and we will be looking into the best way to handle this increase, even trying to retire it early! Stay tuned to see how you can help.

Sincere thanks for supporting Chalice UU Congregation!
